I wanted to let everyone know that I’ve got two separate gallery opening coming up for my Afghanistan work.
It’s so exciting for me to be able to share these photos with more people. One of the shows, at
The Center for Photography at Woodstock , is especially notable because it’s curated by Alison Nordstrom
from the George Eastman House. I am one of nine photographers selected for their annual Photography Now show.
The other show is at Kingston Museum of Contemporary Arts
It’d be great to see you at one of the openings‚Ķ.or both! Details below.

Congratulations!
And thank you for letting the world know about the war in Afghanistan. Our son served there from March 2006 until Aug. 19, 2006. That was the day he received his second injury – an IED took the lives of 3 of his comrades and critically injured him and his Lt. The were in the Korengal Valley.
We have enjoyed your article in the Mens Journal and your web site with your photos. Our son has missed his brothers in arms everyday, and mourns those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
While he is in the USA recovering from his life altering injuries – he mourns not being able to be there to fight with his brothers. By bringing their story to the public you have helped him and us deal with the losses.
Thank you and God Bless you.

Chad:
I will add my congrats on the Woodstock (I didn’t make it), but find it interesting that your pic of the bulldog drew more comments than did any of your images from Afghanistan….. so far. What does that say about us.

To Cindy: I was stationed at the KOP, as an Embedded Trainer with the ANA, with your son and his LT when they were hit. We were all relieved when we heard that he and the LT survived and my family and I pray for them both every day.
To Chad: I love the pic. Was that on one of the few days you guys didn’t get hit up there? Glad you made it back
